cinematic audience
ANGRY MONK comes at a time when interest
in tibet is still high but viewers are becoming disgruntled with repeated
images of the dalai lama or the esoteric aspects of buddhism the film
thus has a strong potential cinematic audience through arthouse film circles
and university film clubs, especially in the USA, the EU and switzerland
(where filmgoers have already developed a sensibility and interest in
documentaries about tibet). in switzerland angry monk productions already
has a distributor: xenix
filmdistribution, and in europe two further distributors, pegasos
film in germany and contact film in holland, have expressed interest in
the project. presently angry monk productions is still looking for interested
distributors in europe, mainly france and the UK, as well as for an US
distributor: ampsales(at)angrymonk.ch.

television sales
for similar reasons, there is a strong potential market in television
sales across the USA and europe. swiss television SF
DRS has already bought the film, while there are a number of other
european television channels for which ANGRY MONKwould be well suited
(france's arte, planete cable; germany's BR, arte, WDR; etc.). it may
also be of interest to PBS in the USA.
for more general information on distribution and television sales or if
you are interested in distributing the film or buying it for your television
station, send us an email to ampsales(at)gmail.com
or use our inquiry form in the contact section.
festival exposure
our production schedule aims to have the film finished in time for the
montreal or amsterdam international festival of fall/winter 2005. in addition,
angry monk productions expects festival exposure for ANGRY
MONK based on its own previous festival experience, as well as
the large number of film festivals which have both documentary strengths
and asian ties (vancouver, pusan, san francisco, yamagata, hong kong,
berlin [forum], paris [cinéma du réel], auckland).

video/dvd
due to the educational nature of the film, ANGRY
MONK should have good prospects in video/dvd rental and sales
to universities, schools and organizations interested in the culture and
politics of tibet. snow
lion publications (USA), the largest distributor in the world of buddhist
and tibetan literature and videos, has already expressed interest.
